September

Not a month goes by where Wayne and I don't take some sort of road trip together. Whether it be a 40 minute drive to a great burger joint, or 6 hours to visit a friend, it doesn't matter, we just love stopping by a gas station, getting our big gulps and taking off. There never seems to be a dull moment. This month started with a short drive to Amelia Island. We love walking around the antique shops, exploring Kingsley Plantation, studying the history, trying new food, and most of all looking at the incredible homes.

September was also a big month because I turned 26! For some reason 26 seems A LOT older than 25. I have always lived in fear that I would have regret, wishing I had done more... Thankfully, I don't feel that way at all! I'm 26 and I've done a lot. I've lived in a different county (China), 8 different cities, graduated from college, had numerous jobs in the field that I studied (behavioral science), married my best friend, have an incredible little boy and I've discovered my passion for cooking and DIY projects. Life could be worse. I still reflect on the idea of going back to school for more education, definitely want more children, and traveling has only just begun for Wayne and I. But as far as I'm concerned, life couldn't be better. It seems turning 26 wasn't all that bad, PLUS, Wayne surprised me with an AMAZING getaway to Tampa!

Wayne went far and beyond planning this trip. Beautiful hotel room, best restaurants, Tampa Rays baseball game, shopping, the most beautiful beach and of course swimming with the manatees and dolphins. Absolutely perfect. Without question one of the best birthdays I have ever had. I think the fact that I could tell Wayne put forth so much effort into making this trip perfect is what really made it special.

Baseball Game

Swimming with the manatees seemed like a trip of its own. It was located in a tiny little town surrounded around the manatees. It was quite unique. After we were all suited up in our wet suits, and scuba gear, we were taken on a boat with about 10 other people. We were lucky to locate and swim with the amount of manatees we did, but when we were surround around a group of dolphins, even our
tour guide was shocked! She admitted this rarely happened!  We were able to be with
them over an hour.  It truly was an experience. One never to be forgotten.

Best Birthday Ever
