San Diego

The problem with blogging about a vacation is that you accumulate so many pictures, you can never quite find the time to put them together. So I decided to try a different system and blog as I go. Unfortunately, the system failed since I am now back from my trip, and haven't written a darn thing... Well, better late than never.

The weather in San Diego was absolutely perfect. Low 70's, with bright blue skies, all week. It doesn't get better than that. We began our trip with the San Diego Zoo. Anyone who has had the opportunity to go to this particular zoo knows just how LARGE it really is. They have almost any animal you can imagine. After about 4 or 5 hours of walking around, and seeing as much as we thought we could, we decided to take the bus tour, which is where we learned that we had only hit about 50% of the park. Again, HUGE. The sky lift was also a great touch to this park. The kids, and my pregnant self included, had had it after about 6 hours, hence the sleeping picture, but we had such a great time!

We all regret not buying this picture. Weird much?
What's California without the beach? We packed up our sunscreen, beach toys, and lunches and headed to the nearest beach. The cousins enjoyed playing in the water, discovering crabs, and barying each other in the sand. It couldn't have been a more relaxing and beautiful afternoon.

Not much to say, except the San Diego Temple is breathtaking.

A few months ago, Wayne and I were talking nonchalantly about our plans for San Diego, and Wayne mentioned Lego Land, and before he could even speak another word, Sam jumped in with "WHAT!" You could see his little mind try to process a whole land of legos. So you can imagine the excitement he had the day we actually went. Where to start with Lego Land? A GREAT place for kids 3 to 8 years old. I think any older and the kids might get a little bored. So luckily all of our children LOVED it! I would take Sam to Lego Land over Magic Kingdom any day... Sorry Disney lovers. They just make the entire land little kid friendly. Sadly, I was not able to go on any of the rides, (except the river float) but watching the pure enjoyment in Samuel and his two cousins faces was priceless. Of course Sam HAD to meet Emmett from the Lego Movie. I think that may of been one of the highlights of his day. It was the 4th of July FYI. We don't usually all dress in patriotic colors.

Our last day all together, we went down to Old Town San Diego, which generally speaking, felt like Mexico. We let the kids run wild, explored the beautiful historic homes, and ate delicious food. A great way to end our trip.

Plus, some random silliness
