East Coast Vacation

In May, we escaped hot, humid, rainy Florida weather, left Samuel with his Ba' and took a trip to the East Coast with our 6 month old baby. First stop, New York City,

Sam hanging out while we pack...

New York was exceptional. It was my first time being there, and it was more than I could have imagined. When we first arrived, we took the bus from the airport to the subway. BIG mistake. We were not prepared for how packed the bus would be. Having our suitcases, stroller, car seat, and a screaming hungry Sophie made for a tight, insufferable ride. I was sure to kill Wayne for suggesting the bus over a taxi. After my animosity passed, we had a good laugh. We made it to our adorable Brownstone apartment where my sister Emily and husband Greg were waiting for us. They had traveled from Arizona. Even though we were tired from our travels, we headed out for pizza at the famous Grimaldi's and then continued to see Brooklyn. Unfortunately we had to leave Greg behind who was dealing with some sort of 24 hour flu/Vertigo

Day 2 was filled with your typical touristy site seeing, museums, and eating lots of food! I was in crepe heaven. Wayne was overly excited about cheap pizza slices, and hot dog vendors.

We were extremely lucky to score David Letterman tickets. Sitting in the front row while Tina Fey stripped was definitely a bonus. Thanks again Dave. Its been real.

Arrived in Boston!

We took the subway into downtown Boston and walked the Freedom Trail which was a
great way of learning history seeing a little of everything.

Wayne and I took a day and headed over to Rhode Island for our friend's wedding. We stopped by Newport to see the adorable beach town, and the incredible summer home mansions of the Vanderbilt's and so on. We fell in love with Rhode Island for the short time we were there.

Our week long trip couldn't have gone smoother. Sophie was a dream to travel with. Wayne was hilarious as usual. Every place we went he spoke with a New York, or Boston accent. The food was out of this world. Both apartments we stayed were dreamy, even if our Boston home already had a ghost residing there... My absolute favorite part was going with my sister. It's hard being so far from family, but I find it the most difficult being away from my sibblings. I loved that Emily and I were able to enjoy this week together, before returning back to our crazy hectic lives.
Until next time East Coast...
